Abstract

Rhenium is widely used in the petroleum refining and the electronics industries. It is also applied in modern super-strong high-temperature resistant alloys. Chile has the world's largest reserves and was the leading producer as of 2005.

We are interesting in the synthesis and characterization of organometallic complexes containing cyclopentadienyl and tetramethylcyclopentadienyl functionalized ligands, the lateral chain can or cannot coordinated, this behavior depending of the nature of the side chain (phosphine, amino, sulphur); crown ether and mixed-aza-macrocyles. these kind of complexes can be used as catalyst for polymerization reactions and as potential sensor respectively.
